CHARLOTTE N.C. (AP) Quail Hollow Club president Johnny Harris first dreamed of attracting a major championship in 1993 when talks began of renovating the course.

Two redesigns and 17 years later it’s reality. The PGA of America announced Tuesday it will hold the 2017 PGA Championship at the old-style course in south Charlotte.

It will mark the third time the PGA will be in North Carolina and the first for the state’s largest city. The event will draw about 50000 a people a day…

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Texas A and M announced the star-studded field for the 2010 Fall Preview presented by Callaway Golf, the premier collegiate womens golf tournament of the fall season, which will be contested at the Aggies Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas Sept. 13-15.

The Aggies will be led by senior Sarah Zwartynski (Allen, Texas/Allen HS), who placed 33rd at last years championship and is A and Ms top returning finisher from last years NCAA squad. Earlier this summer, Zwartynski won the Texas State Amateur and just missed advancing to match play at the U. S. Womens Amateur. Also returning from Texas A and Ms 2010 NCAA squad are sophomores Sarah Beth Davis (Victoria, Texas/St. Joseph HS) and Chloe Garner (Somerset West, South Africa/Somerset HS).
